We hadn’t gone on a snowboarding trip as a family since before we had Avery, and earlier this month we had the pleasure of spending a few days at RiverWalk Resort at Loon Mountain in New Hampshire.  We had fresh snow while there, so our first time on Loon Mountain couldn’t have been better!

At the end of the day on the mountain it was so nice to head back to the outdoor heated pool and hot tub at RiverWalk. For the times we weren’t on the mountain there were other activities onsite as well.  The game room has classic arcade games, air hockey and a pool table that my crew enjoyed. The ice rink (converted from a lagoon pool for the winter months) wraps around the outdoor heated pool and hot tub. It’s such a unique set up, and skates are available to rent. There’s a full-service spa onsite as well as a fitness center, although our schedules were too busy to use it… if our stay had been longer we absolutely would have.

Our meals in the onsite restaurant, La Vista, were excellent. I don’t always have high hopes for onsite restaurants and we typically search out alternative dining options, but the food at La Vista was so good we didn’t need to. I highly recommend it (breakfast too) even if you’re staying elsewhere! We all really enjoyed the wine tasting experience at Seven Birches Winery, also on the property.

There’s a shuttle between RiverWalk and the mountain, but the drive was only a few minutes with easy parking. If it’s as cold as it was when we were there I recommend driving to avoid the outdoor wait to be picked up.

Another fun experience not too far from RiverWalk is Ice Castles, a frozen attraction made of an incredible number of icicles. There are tunnels, slides, caves, and sculptures… it’s basically a dream for anyone who has young children or loves unique photo ops.

For those who fall in love with RiverWalk and the surrounding area there are affordable ownership options that come with property management and other perks like private parties and owner’s club access. Overall it’s a great destination for anyone who loves skiing/snowboarding and other outdoor activities as well as the best amenities and food to unwind with at the end of the day!

For anyone wondering about the Covid procedures at the resort… staff and guests are all required to wear masks everywhere indoors on the property with the exceptions of being seated at your table in the restaurant and during wine tasting with your party. Rooms are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected between guests, and public areas are sanitized regularly. Due to restrictions there was no housekeeping during our stay, however fresh towels were delivered to our door daily. Guest are encouraged to keep social distance, and at no time did I feel like our personal space was invaded… we even lucked out with having the game room to ourselves!

I partnered with RiverWalk Resort at Loon for our stay. As always, all opinions are my own.
